Post on planning a Pillow-redo

I have had this brown throw pillow since my University days.  In the time that I've owned it, it has been covered in buttons, fabric flowers and ribbon.  I feel that it's time to make the pillow some happy ;)

The white Bambi Vinnis has a very soft texture so I'll be using that for mos of the pillow casing.

I think I'm going to cover it in crochet granny squares with flowers in the middle.  Just look at how perfect these vinnis colours fit with my living room colour shceme:

Any pattern suggestions?
